Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has created history at the Paavo Nurmi Games. He has won the gold medal in this tournament for the first time. At the 2022 Paavo Nurmi Games, Neeraj finished second with a throw of 89 meters but this time he won the gold medal with a throw of 85.97 meters.

Due to injury, Neeraj could not participate in the 2023 event. Neeraj, who has won the gold medal in the Tokyo Games, aims to win the gold medal in the Paris Olympics to be held from July 26. Finland's Toni Karamane managed to win the silver medal by finishing second with a throw of 84.19 meters. Oliver Hollander won the bronze medal with his best throw of 83.96 meters.
