Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in North Korea early Wednesday morning, where he was warmly welcomed by Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. After being welcomed at the airport, Kim left in the same car with Putin. Putin stunned the whole world, especially the western countries, by saying that both countries want to cooperate with each other to remove US sanctions.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met Putin at Pyongyang airport. They shook hands and hugged, and then Kim got into a car with Putin and took him to the Kumsusan State Guest House in Pyongyang, an official North Korean news agency said. The agency called their meeting a historic event that demonstrates the “invincibility and durability” of friendship and unity between the two countries.
Putin visits Korea for the first time in 24 years
North Korea is a country which is isolated from the rest of the world, where Putin has visited for the first time in 24 years. Foreign leaders are rarely seen here. In such a situation, Putin's visit to Korea was a big event in itself for Korea, for which elaborate preparations were made.

A video has surfaced in which a big red carpet is being laid at the airport. Kim is seen waiting for Putin on the red carpet. As Putin descends the stairs of his plane, Kim moves forward to shake hands with him and the two leaders are seen empathetically hugging each other. The two leaders have a brief conversation and Putin hugs Kim again, after which Kim signals him to leave.
