Ghaziabad, June 17 (HS). Eid ul Azha was celebrated in Ghaziabad with great enthusiasm and in a traditional manner. On this occasion, Muslims offered Eid ul Azha prayers in Idgah and mosques amid tight security arrangements. The administration, police and municipal corporation officials remained fully active.
Eid al-Adha prayers were offered at the scheduled time in the Eidgahs of Islamnagar, Mirzapur, Pratap Siddharth Vihar, Shaheed Nagar, Dasda, Mussoorie and other villages. During this, people wished each other Eid Mubarak. Muslims also sacrificed goats and other animals.
Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation was in charge of Eid ul Azha and Ganga Dussehra festival, cleanliness system was strengthened inside and outside mosques and Idgah and water was also sprinkled. Lime was also arranged, cleaning was done by sprinkling bleaching powder at the place of sacrifice. The lighting department got the work of repairing lights done at all places as per requirement, special attention was paid to cleanliness in the programs of Piau and Bhandara organized on the occasion of Ganga Dussehra, people were also made aware to not spread dirt. Dustbins were used as much as possible and efforts were also made to make all the rituals completely zero waste and plastic free.
Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik said that programs were organized on the occasion of Eid ul Azha and Ganga Dussehra within the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation limits, in which the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Health Department played an important role. Special attention was paid to the cleanliness at the sacrifice sites. The disposal of sacrifice waste was also done speedily by the Safai Mitras, apart from the Karkash plant, the sacrifice waste was disposed of by digging a pit at a suitable place. Work was done by different teams in all the five zones; care was taken that plastic is not used in religious rituals like Bhandaar etc. Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has also received special cooperation from public representatives.
