Lucknow: Severe heat and heat wave continue in Uttar Pradesh. Severe heat is being seen across the state. Maximum temperature was recorded above 45 degree Celsius in most parts of the state.
The highest temperature was recorded in Prayagraj at 47.6 degrees Celsius, which was 8.7 degrees above normal.
According to the Regional Meteorological Center of Lucknow, the atmosphere of the state remained dry in the last 24 hours. Heat and heat wave continue in most of the states.
This heat is not likely to subside anytime soon. Jhansi recorded 47.1, Varanasi 46.8, Agra 46.5, Sultanpur 46.4, Fatehpur 46.2, Barabanki 46, Lucknow 45.6 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in Delhi today was recorded at 44.9 degrees Celsius, which was 6 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 33.2 degrees Celsius, which was 5.7 degrees above normal.
The heat wave continues in Haryana and Punjab as well. The temperature was recorded at 47.2 degrees Celsius in Samrala and 46.6 degrees Celsius in Nuh.
The Meteorological Department has warned that heat and heat wave will continue in many states of the country during June 16 to 18, most areas of Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience severe heat. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heat wave in Jammu, Himachal, Rajasthan as well.
On June 16 and 17, heat wave will continue in different areas of Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar and Jharkhand.
