The Meteorological Department says that the heat wave will not reduce for the next three days. After this, the monsoon will become active and it will rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Dr. S N Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technology University, said on Sunday that during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and heavy rain at some places is possible in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is possible in South-West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, parts of South and East Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Konkan and Goa and Central Maharashtra. Light rain may occur in Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and South-East Rajasthan.
He said that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are possible in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand including Kanpur division. Heat wave conditions are likely in some areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu division, eastern Madhya Pradesh and northern Chhattisgarh. Nights are likely to remain hot in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
He informed that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 45.2 and the minimum temperature at 29.0 degree Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 34 and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 19 percent. The wind direction was north-west with an average speed of 7.1 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, Kanpur is likely to remain lightly cloudy in the next five days but there is no possibility of rain. The day and night temperatures are likely to remain above normal. Also, the situation of heat and heat wave will continue.
