The shooting took place at the Children's Water Park in Rochester Hills. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the gunman hid in a nearby house after the shooting. Police surrounded the house and found the suspect dead when they went inside. Children and others injured in the shooting have been admitted to the hospital.
What did the police say?
According to Oakland County Police, the suspected gunman arrived at the Auburn splash pad in Rochester Hills around 5 p.m. on Saturday and got out of his vehicle and started firing indiscriminately. Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the attacker fired about 28 rounds from a 9mm semi-automatic Glock. A gun and three empty magazines were recovered from the scene. It is believed that this gun was used to fire the shots.
