Two arrested in a fraud case of 90 lakhs in the name of insurance

Kanpur, June 15 (HS). On Saturday, the police of Kanpur Cyber ​​police station arrested two members of a gang who had committed a fraud of Rs 90 lakhs by luring people to re-start their defunct insurance policies and give them more benefits. Both were produced in the court, from where they were sent to jail.

Assistant Police Commissioner Crime Branch Kanpur Nagar Mohsin said that the arrested accused are Chunky son of Madan Lal, resident of Vijay Nagar Sector 12, Ghaziabad district and Pankaj Agarwal son of Kalicharan, resident of HHA-283 GD Shastri Nagar, the same district. They used to call people by luring them to get the closed insurance policy paid easily and with high profits and along with this, they committed fraud of about 90 lakh rupees in the name of various types of service charges, file charges etc. to get the insurance policy paid.

In this regard, a case was registered against both of them under sections 384,406,420,467 IPC and 66D Act in Chakeri police station in the year 2023. On the instructions of Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar, under the campaign being run against cyber criminals, Inspector Sudhir Kumar of Cyber ​​​​Police Station Kanpur was engaged in searching for suspects with his team.
