Lucknow, June 15 (HS). Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that farmers and youth are suffering due to the wrong policies of the BJP government. Farmers are not getting the right price for their crops. The cost of farming is increasing, due to which farmers are sinking in debt. Under the BJP government, farmers, youth and other people are troubled by moneylenders. Troubled by moneylenders, people are forced to commit suicide.
Akhilesh Yadav said that in Etawah, a young farmer, troubled by the daily demands and harassment of moneylenders, committed suicide. In the ten years of the BJP government, more than one lakh farmers have committed suicide due to inflation and debt. The policies of the BJP government are anti-poor and anti-farmer and are made for the capitalists.
The SP president said that under the BJP government, there is terror of moneylenders in the entire state. In Ballia, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Shahjahanpur, everywhere, people are living a miserable life because of moneylenders. The poor, farmers and the weak are the biggest victims of this type of loan. Once people get caught in their clutches, it becomes difficult to get out.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the schemes of low interest and easy loans from banks for the poor and farmers do not seem to be implemented on the ground. The government system is so complicated that farmers are not able to get loans from banks, then people are forced to lose their lives by getting trapped in the trap of moneylenders for small needs.
