Madiyanv police station in-charge stopped the last rites in Vednathpuram, people created a ruckus

Lucknow, June 13 (HS). Inspector-in-charge Shivanand Mishra stopped the people who had come to perform the last rites at the cremation ground in Vednathpuram of Madiyanv police station area in Lucknow. People got angry when they were stopped for the last rites and started shouting slogans against the police administration. People created a ruckus and called the local MLA Neeraj Bora on his mobile and informed him about the whole matter.

Hundreds of people carrying the dead body from Semra Gaurhi of Madiyanv reached the cremation ground in Vednathpuram on Thursday for the last rites. People had just got the wood placed when Madiyanv police station in-charge Shivanand Mishra reached there and stopped people from cremating the body. Police station in-charge Shivanand said that the local people believe that there is population all around here, so it is not appropriate to cremate the dead body. All of you should cremate the dead body only at the cremation grounds built on the river bank.

People were enraged after listening to the words of Madiyanv police station in-charge. The enraged people said that they have been coming here for many years and performing last rites, then why are they being stopped today. Who are the policemen who stop the last rites? This is a tradition that has been going on for years. This place is declared as a cremation ground.

During this time some people called MLA Neeraj Bora on his mobile and told him everything and asked him to talk to Inspector in charge Shivanand, but he refused to talk to him. After some time people started shouting slogans against the police. MLA Neeraj Bora again talked to Inspector in charge and instructed him not to create hindrance in social work, after which people completed the last rites.
