Araria 10 June (HS). The martyrdom day of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjun Dev, was celebrated with reverence on Monday at the Gurudwara located on Ram Manohar Lohia Path in Forbesganj. A special recitation was organized along with Shabad Kirtan on the occasion. Gyani Pradeep Singh shed light on the personality and deeds of Guru Arjun Dev by singing bhajans and preaching.
Gyani Pradeep Singh said that the moment of conversion was the most important moment of his life. During the conversion, Aurangzeb tortured him physically and mentally in every way to compel him. He was even boiled in hot water but he still remained steadfast on his religion. Guru Arjun Dev was born on 15 April 1563 in Govindwal near Amritsar and died in 1581 in Lahore, Pakistan. He said in his sermons that whoever takes refuge in God will not face any trouble, nor will he wander in 84 lakh births. On the occasion of this event, langar was also organized. In which a large number of people from other communities were also present along with the Sikh community.
