Baharampur, 09 June (HS). There is panic in the area due to the incidents of robbery one after another in Kebalrampur under Hariharpada police station of Murshidabad. During this, bullets were also fired. The miscreants allegedly looted money from four passersby including retail traders. On receiving the news, the villagers reached the spot. The miscreants also allegedly fired eight rounds. When the villagers chased them, the miscreants fled leaving behind three motorcycles.
It is alleged that from 12 o'clock on Saturday night to 4 o'clock on Sunday morning, four people robbed cash and mobile phones at the same place. As soon as Sunday morning dawned, the villagers gathered. It is alleged that the miscreants fled when chased.
Locals allege that despite informing the police at night, the robbery took place till morning. It is alleged that such an incident had never happened before. Villagers have demanded that the culprits be arrested and given appropriate punishment. The police of Hariharpada police station has started investigating the incident.
