Bijnor, 09 June (HS). Superintendent of Police Neeraj Jadoun on Sunday suspended four constables posted at the excise post of Kotwali city. This action was taken for not taking any action even after getting information about narcotics.
A person consuming narcotics was caught and brought to the Excise Outpost on the information of purchasing drugs. The person was released without informing the higher authorities. After the matter came to light the Superintendent of Police assigned the investigation of the case to the City Officer. He learned from him that the four policemen had released the accused of using and purchasing narcotics from the outpost. Whereas the accused should have been thoroughly interrogated and necessary legal action should have been taken against the woman selling the narcotics and the buyer. But the policemen did not take any action.
Considering their indifference and laxity towards their duties, the Superintendent of Police suspended the four constables Shaukendra, Rahul Kumar, Rahul Sharma and Pankaj Kumar. In this regard, the initial investigation has been given to the Area Officer Crime and asked to submit the investigation report within seven days.
