More than 50 countries of the world have congratulated Narendra Modi, who is going to become the Prime Minister of India for a record third time, but the neighboring country Pakistan has not congratulated Narendra Modi on his victory yet. Pakistan said that it wants cooperative relations with all its neighboring countries including India and resolution of disputes through dialogue. This statement from Pakistan has come when Narendra Modi has been elected for the post of Prime Minister for a record third time.
An official of the Foreign Ministry of neighboring country Pakistan said that despite the difficulties and statements coming from India, Pakistan is acting responsibly. He said that Pakistan always wants cooperative relations with its neighbors, including India. We advocate continued constructive dialogue and partnership to resolve all pending issues, including major disputes like Jammu and Kashmir.
India-Pakistan relations are tense
Pakistan has downgraded its ties with India after the Indian government revoked the provisions of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Pakistan believes that the decision has weakened the atmosphere for dialogue between the neighbors. India has consistently said that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan but has stressed that Islamabad is responsible for creating an environment free of terrorism and hostility for such relations. The government official further said that Pakistan believes in maintaining peace. We hope that India will take steps to maintain peace and promote dialogue for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries and create a favorable environment for the resolution of long-standing disputes.
