There was an uproar in this country when the youth took advantage of the situation and attacked the Prime Minister who had come out for election campaign

Attack on Danish PM: Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was attacked by a man in Copenhagen's Kultorvet (Square, Red) on Friday. Though the prime minister was not injured in the attack, he was immediately evacuated. A local resident said Frederiksen was not injured in the attack. The attacker was arrested after the incident.

The accused was arrested

Police said they have arrested one person. The accused is being questioned and the incident is being investigated. Police refused to give more details.

A person present at the scene told about the attack

A person working at the scene said, “A man came and pushed the Prime Minister hard on his shoulder, following which he fell down and looked stressed.”

Slovakia's Prime Minister was also attacked

After the attack, security personnel took the Prime Minister away from there. This attack happened two days before voting in the European Union elections in Denmark. Three weeks ago, Prime Minister Robert Fico was attacked in Slovakia. During this, he was seriously injured.

The attack took place ahead of the EU elections on June 9. Danish PM Frederiksen is campaigning alongside the Social Democrats' EU lead candidate Christal Schaldemoes.
