Saharsa, 07 June (HS). SDPO Alok Kumar and Cyber DSP Ajit Kumar in Sadar police station told on Friday that two people have been arrested in the case of arms and liquor recovery. He said that based on secret information, TOP 2 in-charge police sub-inspector Sanoj Verma and evening patrol officer police sub-inspector Rupa Kumari and with the help of armed force, raid was conducted at the house of Bablu Kumar father Laxmi Sah located in Batraha ward number 36, and on his information, a large amount of English liquor was recovered from his grocery shop and from the car parked in front of the shop. Along with this, primary accused Bablu Kumar father late Laxmi Sah and Sujata Kumari wife Bablu Kumar have been arrested.
In this regard, a case has been registered in Sadar police station under Bihar Central Prohibition and Excise Act. SDPO Alok Kumar said that 35 bottles of 750 ml of McDowell Number One brand and 190 bottles of 500 ml of Magnum brand liquor, a Maruti car and a scooty have been recovered from the said businessman. He said that based on the information, Sanjay Jha, son of Navkant Jha, resident of Kahra, the primary accused in case number 503/24 of Sadar police station area, is sitting with another companion with a weapon in the courtyard of his under-construction Shiva temple in Kahra. For verification of the information received and necessary action, a raid was conducted with the help of Police Sub Inspector Manish Kumar and Technical Branch and primary accused Sanjay Jha and Raman Yadav, son of Badri Yadav, resident of Batraha Ward No. 36, were arrested with an illegal firearm.
He said that a Made in Germany pistol, 6 live cartridges, two mobiles and a magazine have been recovered from the arrested criminal. He said that Sanjay Jha, who has been arrested, is a notorious criminal and a domineering person. He has also fired openly to spread terror in the city. Also, being a land mafia, many cases are already registered against him.
He said that so far information about 17 criminal cases has been received against him. He is wanted in two cases. Information has also been received about his involvement in arms trade which has become a threat to the society.
