Four Indian students have drowned in the Volkhov River near St. Petersburg, Russia. The Indian mission here is in touch with Russian authorities to deliver their bodies to their families as soon as possible. These include four students and two girl students. The four deceased students were studying medicine at Novgorod University in Veliky Novgorod city. These included two young men and two young women between the ages of 18 and 20.
This is how the accident happened
According to reports, an Indian student walked a little away from the Volkhov river bank and started drowning in the water. Four of her friends tried to save her but three other students drowned in the river while trying to save her. However, locals managed to pull one young man out of the Hemkhem river. The student was immediately admitted to a local hospital. The parents and families of the deceased students were informed about the tragedy.
