Meerut, 05 June (HS). A massive fire broke out in a warehouse of inverter-battery and AC due to short circuit on Wednesday afternoon in Pallavpuram police station area. The warehouse owner got burnt while trying to save the employees. The fire brigade vehicles controlled the fire after several hours of hard work.
Pawan Rathi, a resident of Pallavapuram Phase-2, and his brother Vivek Rathi have a warehouse of inverters, batteries and ACs right in front of their house. On Wednesday afternoon, employees Sudarshan, Ajit, Angad, Gajendra, Javed, Rupak and Yunus were working in the warehouse. Suddenly, a massive fire broke out in the warehouse due to a short circuit. The fire was so fierce that the batteries kept in the warehouse started exploding.
Warehouse owner Vivek entered the warehouse to save his employees. While saving the employees, Vivek's hands got badly burnt. After getting the information, six fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire with great difficulty. According to warehouse owner Vivek, he had taken a loan of five crores for the business just a month ago. Today, goods worth about one and a half crore rupees present in the warehouse have been burnt to ashes.
