Forbesganj/Araria, 05 June (HS). A case of beating a pregnant woman to death over dowry demand has come to light in Renugram of Forbesganj.
After the incident, all the members of the in-laws' side absconded. The case is of Kushaha village of Aurahi West Panchayat of Simraha police station area. Where after the incident, all the members of the in-laws' side absconded. The name of the 26-year-old deceased has been told as Rani Kumari, who was the daughter of Gyanchand Mandal, resident of Bhawanipur Ward No. 3 of Revahi Panchayat area of Narpatganj police station area. Who was married to Suraj Kumar Mandal, a resident of Kushaha of Simraha, three years ago in 2021.
While the deceased is said to be pregnant, she also has a one-year-old son. On receiving information regarding the incident, Simraha police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. Brother of the deceased, Pankaj Kumar, filed an FIR at Simraha police station. In which seven people from the in-laws' side have been named as accused and have been accused of murder. In the FIR, besides the accused husband Suraj Kumar Mandal, his father Sitaram Mandal, brother-in-law Munna Mandal, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, including Kumud Mandal, resident of Durgapur of Godraha Vishanpur of Narpatganj police station area, and others have been named as accused.
The victim's brother has said in the FIR lodged that she was married to Suraj Kumar Mandal, son of Sitaram Mandal, resident of Kusha, Simraha in 2021 with rituals. After the marriage, a son was born whose age is one year. It is also said that the deceased was eight months pregnant. Since the marriage, husband Suraj Mandal used to constantly harass my sister for dowry.
