Varanasi, 01 June (HS). In the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the voting process is going on smoothly in the district since 7 am on Saturday amid tight security. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the youth about voting. By 9 am, 12.66 percent voting had taken place in the district. In this, 13.02 percent voting had taken place in Varanasi North, 12.03 percent in Varanasi South, 11.88 percent in Cantt, 13.28 percent in Rohania and 14.46 percent in Sevapuri.

The youth who voted for the first time along with the young girls looked very happy at the pink and model booths specially made in the district. Wheel chairs have been arranged for the disabled to go to the booth. After voting, the youth took selfies at the selfie points made at the model booths and expressed their happiness by sharing their photos on various social media platforms.

The District Election Officer/DM conducted a special inspection of several booths. He also kept inspecting the security arrangements of sensitive booths. Voting for the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections is scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm. Extensive security arrangements have been made at all the model booths. In view of the heat, arrangements have also been made for shade and drinking cold water.

The police observer has instructed to behave properly with the voters. Allow voters to park their vehicles at a distance of 200 meters from the booth. Do not stop anyone unnecessarily. On the other hand, medical teams have also been deployed in adequate numbers at the booths.

Let us tell you that, from Varanasi parliamentary seat, BJP candidate is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress candidate Ajay Rai from INDIAA alliance, Athar Jamal Lari from BSP, Gagan Prakash Yadav from Apna Dal Kamerawadi, Kolishetti Shivkumar from Yug Tulsi Party, independent Sanjay Kumar Tiwari and Dinesh Kumar Yadav are in the fray. 19 lakh 97 thousand 577 voters will exercise their right to vote in the election. In this, the number of women voters is 9 lakh 13 thousand 692 and that of men is 10 lakh 83 thousand 750. For the first time, 37 thousand 226 youth are voting.
