Major Radhika Sen: Indian women peacekeepers Major Radhika Sen and Naik Dhananjay Kumar Singh, who served in the United Nations (UN) mission in Congo, were awarded the military award. They were honored with this award by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Regarding this award, Radhika Sen said that this award is very special for her.
Let us tell you that Major Radhika Sen was given the 2023 United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award on the occasion of International United Nations Peacekeepers Day.

Major Radhika Sen said, “This award is special to me as it recognises the hard work done by all UNESCO peacekeepers working in challenging environments. I encourage the UN and Member States to take advantage of the rich network created by this award.
India's Permanent Representative to the UN Ruchira Kamboj said on the social media platform, “Secretary-General Guterres today awarded the Dag Hammarskjöld Medal to Naik Dhananjay Kumar Singh, who has made many sacrifices in the line of duty. Who is Major Sen?
Major Sen was deployed to the Eastern Republic of Congo as the Commander of the Indian Rapid Deployment Battalion from March 2023 to April 2024. He originally hails from Himachal Pradesh. He was born in 1993 and joined the Indian Army eight years ago. After graduating in biotech engineering, Major Radhika Sen decided to join the Indian Army.
