Ghaziabad, May 29 (HS). The team of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Wednesday raided the International Agro Foods Slaughter House in Dasna, Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh and freed 57 child labourers. Among them are 31 minor girls. All these children are from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal etc.
Ghaziabad ACP Naresh Kumar told media persons that New Delhi had received a complaint that a slaughter house is operating in Ghaziabad. Here about 40 children from Bihar and West Bengal are forced to work in the slaughter house under inhuman conditions. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, the team of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights raided the slaughter house. A total of 57 child labourers, including 31 minor girls and 26 minor boys, were freed from here. The children are originally from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal etc.
He said that all these children were found working in inhumane conditions in the slaughterhouse. All of them were medically examined. After this, the children were presented before the child welfare committee. The main business of International Agro Foods is meat processing and freezing.
