Jhansi, May 28 (HS). Due to Nautapa, there has been intense heat in Jhansi for the last three days. Jhansi was the hottest district in UP for the last two days consecutively on Sunday and Monday. The temperature reached 47.6 degrees on Monday and 48.1 degrees on Tuesday. The temperature has broken the record of 40 years. Earlier, in the year 1984, the mercury had crossed 48 degrees. Jhansi, which was the hottest in UP, was at number 5 in the top 3 and top 5 hottest districts in the country. This has not happened for the first time, Jhansi has been the hottest in UP four times in this season. The temperature remained 47 degrees Celsius on Tuesday also.
These are the reasons for Jhansi's heat
Explaining the reason behind this, Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh, meteorologist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bharari, says that there are three major reasons for the intense heat in Jhansi. First – the hot desert winds coming from Rajasthan first hit Jhansi. Therefore, the temperature remains high and the winds remain hot.
Hot stones do not cool down quickly
Meteorologists say that the second reason is that Bundelkhand is a drought affected area. There is a lot of rocky area here. There are a lot of mountains. The rocks heat up very fast and remain hot for a long time. Their temperature does not decrease quickly even at night. Therefore, the temperature remains hotter at night along with the day. If we talk about Rajasthan, the temperature increases during the day, but the sand found there cools down quickly. Therefore, the temperature drops at night. The third reason is that due to Jhansi being a rocky area, there are less trees and plants. Due to this, there is no moisture in the air. Due to this, the temperature here remains high.
Nautapa will heat up a lot
Meteorologist Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh says that Nautapa is going on right now. There is a belief in Nautapa that if there is good heat for 9 days, then the rain is also equally good. This time there will be intense heat in Nautapa. There is no possibility of the temperature going down. The mercury is likely to remain around 48 degrees. He said that the monsoon is likely to reach Jhansi by June 25. The average annual rainfall here is 850 mm. This time there is a possibility of more than average rainfall.
