Kanpur, May 25 (HS). In Gwaltoli police station area, a youth who was creating a ruckus after drinking alcohol got into a scuffle with his cousin. The cousin threw a stone on the head of the drunk brother, due to which he got seriously injured. The family took him to Ursla Hospital in a bloody condition, where the doctor declared him dead. Police reached the spot on information, started further legal action after investigating with the dog squad and forensic team.
22 year old London, a resident of Ahiran Tola, used to work as a labourer. He was addicted to alcohol. He used to quarrel with the neighbours after coming home drunk everyday. Late night on Friday also he came home drunk and started abusing his cousin Virendra. When Virendra protested, a scuffle broke out between the two.
It is alleged that in the meantime Virendra picked up a stone lying nearby and hit London on the head. London fell down bleeding after being hit by the stone on the head. The family members immediately took him to the district hospital Ursula Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
DCP Central RS Gautam said on Saturday that the police has taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. The police registered a case of murder on the complaint received from the family and arrested the accused Virendra.
