Gautam Gambhir on India's new coach: Gautam Gambhir is all set to become the coach of the Indian team but for this he has put a condition in front of the BCCI. According to a report, Gambhir will submit his form for the coach only when the BCCI indicates that he will be appointed as the coach. The BCCI is also keen to give coaching to Gambhir. Under the supervision of Gambhir, the Lucknow Super Giants team made it to the qualifiers in their first IPL season 2022.
This season, Gambhir is the mentor of KKR and he has taken the team to the finals, thus Gambhir has shown his coaching ability to the whole world. The report also claims that some BCCI officials in Chennai can also discuss about the coach with Gambhir on the day of the final. BCCI has fixed May 27 as the last date for application for the coach.
Apart from this, it has also been said in the report that Gambhir has not spoken to KKR team owner Shahrukh Khan on this issue. He will not talk to the KKR owner until the BCCI gives him a clear decision regarding the coach.
On the other hand, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has clarified that no Australian has been approached for the position by the Indian board or on their behalf and the reports circulating in the media are false. Jay Shah issued a statement on Friday to clarify that there is no truth in the rumor. The BCCI is looking for a new head coach for the men's cricket team as Rahul Dravid's tenure ends after the T20 World Cup 2024. The Board of Control for Cricket in India invited applications for the new head coach of the Indian men's team via social media on May 13, with the deadline being May 28. India's next head coach will be appointed from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2027.
