Kuala Lumpur, May 25 (HS). Two-time Olympic medalist Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has made it to the finals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500. Sindhu defeated Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan in a thrilling semi-final match of the women's singles category played on Saturday.
Sindhu defeated Ongbamrungphan 13-21, 21-16, 21-12 in a match that lasted 88 minutes.
Sindhu has reached her first BWF World Tour final in over a year, her last appearance being at the 2023 Spain Masters in April, where she was defeated by Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
Sindhu will face Wang Ziyi in the final of the Malaysia Masters, who defeated compatriot Zhang Yiman 21-9, 21-11 in a match that lasted just 32 minutes in the semi-finals.
Let us inform that Sindhu had earlier entered the semi-finals by defeating top seed and world number six Han Yu of China 21-13, 14-21, 21-12 in the quarter-final match.
