Moradabad, May 25 (HS). Dr. Rakesh Kumar, President of India Expo Center and Mart, said that the Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML) Greater Noida, took the initiative to organize the first edition of UP International Trade Show (UPITS) last year. The second edition of the show will be held from 25 to 29 September 2024 at India Expo Center and Mart.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar informed that Manoj Kumar Singh IAS & Structural held a meeting with Industrial Development Commissioner and Noida, Greater Noida & Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authorities/Chairmen in Lucknow to discuss various issues to promote export promotion measures of UP in the 2nd UPITS.
UPITS is a landmark event aimed at bringing together industry leaders, businesses and professionals from various sectors on a global platform. The fair is expected to see significant representation from a wide range of industries including manufacturing, technology, agriculture, textiles, healthcare, tourism and more. UPITS provides a B2B and B2C platform for companies to showcase their products and services, network with potential partners and explore new business opportunities in the region.
Speaking on the preparations of UPITS, Dr. Rakesh Kumar said that the meeting was very cordial and result-oriented discussions were held. Dr. Kumar further said that the upcoming Jewar airport will develop infrastructure and will prove to be a game changer for the entire Gautam Buddha Nagar, Agra and Western Uttar Pradesh for industrial promotion. IEML is currently undergoing a major expansion plan.
Sudhir Tyagi, former Chairman of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and current Director of IEML, also attended the meeting.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Expo Centre & Mart informed that Uttar Pradesh state is the most populous state which makes it the largest consumer market in India. Uttar Pradesh contributes more than 8 percent to India's GDP and ranks second in terms of ease of doing business. With policies promoting the goal of inclusive, sustainable and balanced growth, the state is aiming to achieve a target of 1 trillion in the next five years. The export of handicrafts from the state of Uttar Pradesh is around Rs 8000 crore.
