Hamirpur, May 24 (HS). Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth and Sports Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur said today that when the Congress government in Karnataka was preparing to usurp the rights of SC, ST, OBC at the behest of 10 Janpath, did Chief Minister Sukhu oppose it? If not, is Sukhu going to usurp the rights of SC, ST, OBC in Himachal as well? Is he going to give it to his vote bank for appeasement by cutting their reservation? Modi ji also worked to give 10% reservation in government jobs to economically weaker upper castes, but the anti-reservation Congress is not able to digest even this.
Anurag Thakur said these things on Friday during his more than a dozen programs and public meetings in Kutlehar and Shri Naina Devi assembly. During this, he also fiercely cornered the Congress and opposition parties on the issues of the army and SC, ST and OBC communities.
Anurag Thakur further said that Congress has been anti-SC, ST and OBC since its inception till today, while on the other hand Bharatiya Janata Party has always worked for the upliftment of SC, ST and OBC communities.
He said that it is the Congress which has started the disease of giving reservation on religious basis in India. Wherever their state governments come to power, they snatch the reservation of SC, ST and OBC brothers and sisters and give it to their vote bank for appeasement. Why does Himachal Chief Minister Sukhu not tell the people whether he is planning to cut the reservation of SC-ST and OBC communities in Himachal or not?
Anurag Thakur further said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar ji was awarded Bharat Ratna when the Janata Dal government was in power with the support of BJP. Today Modi has given Baba Saheb his due respect. Modi built Panch Teerth in Mau, Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi and London, started celebrating Constitution Day and declared a national holiday on his birth anniversary.
Anurag Thakur further said that after the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today the people of Scheduled Caste are getting reservation there. Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which benefited more than 12 crore farmers, out of which 1.5 crore farmers are from SC community.
