The process of semi-annual rebalancing of various BSE indices is underway and its official announcement is likely to be made tomorrow i.e. Friday. Under this process, Adani Enterprises may replace Wipro in the main index Sensex. If this happens, it will be the first time that a company of the Gautam Adani-led Adani Group will be included in the 30-share-based Sensex.
According to a report by IIFL Alternative Research, five stocks are likely to be removed from the BSE 100 index and five new stocks are likely to be added. The stocks that are expected to be divested include Page Industries, SBI Cards & Payment Services, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, Zee Entertainment, Enterprises and Jubilee's Foodworks. These stocks are likely to be replaced by Jio Financial Services, Adani Green Energy, REC, Adani Power and Adani Energy Solutions.
