One hundred plants were planted on International Biodiversity Day

Bhagalpur, May 22 (HS). On the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, on Wednesday, in the presence of Divisional Forest Officer, Bhagalpur, Shweta Kumari, 1 Indian Flap Sail Turtle, 2 Lesser Adjutant and 3 Greater Adjutant were released into their natural habitat. Also, 100 saplings were planted by the children of Kilkari.

On the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, experts gave in-depth information about biodiversity to the farmers. Forest Divisional Officer Shweta Kumari said that biodiversity also provides extensive benefits to humans. Preserving the health of the ecosystem ensures access to food and other key resources, such as the active ingredients of some medicines contained in plants and herbs. In addition, healthy and diverse ecosystems also contribute to air and water purification, climate regulation, and flood prevention.

Shweta Kumari said that unfortunately biodiversity is in crisis due to many factors. Many of them are related to human activities. The main reasons for which are deforestation, pollution, global warming, habitat destruction and excessive exploitation of natural resources. If these events are left uncontrolled, entire ecosystems and the diversity of organisms within them can be damaged. Therefore, it is essential for all of us to make conservation of biodiversity a priority to ensure environmental sustainability and the future of our planet.

On this occasion, Forest Area Officer Bhagalpur Rajesh Kumar, Veterinary Officer Bhagalpur Sanjeet Kumar, Bird Expert Arvind Mishra, Rupesh Kumar Singh, Forest Guard Uttam Kumar, Mohd Mumtaz, Dolphin Friend Yogendra Mahaldar, Mahendra Mahaldar, Vishnu Mahaldar, Rajendra Mahaldar, Gore Mahaldar, Santosh Mahaldar, Arjun Mahaldar and others were present.
