Champawat, 21 May (Hindustan Reporter). District Magistrate Champawat Navneet Pandey inaugurated the annual Jod Mela – 2024 of Gurdwara Shri Reetha Sahib, the main pilgrimage site of the Sikhs located at the confluence of Ladhiya and Ratiya rivers of the district, on Tuesday with a thread of Guru Granth Sahib recitation. During this, the District Magistrate wished for the prosperity of Matha Tek district in Sri Reetha Sahib Darbar.
District Magistrate Pandey, while congratulating everyone for the Jod Fair organized at Reetha Sahib, said that this fair should bring innovation and enthusiasm in everyone's life. He also said that the sacred teachings of Guru Nanakdev Ji are a source of inspiration for all mankind and it works to unite the society. Along with the spirit of brotherhood and harmony, the sacred teachings of Guru Maharaj also inspire all of us to live life positively. Nanak ji made every person aware about living a life based on self-respect and provided new energy and consciousness to Indian society and culture.
After the inauguration of the fair, the District Magistrate inspected the fair area and took stock of all the necessary arrangements. He directed the Irrigation Department to repair the temporary wooden bridge and also directed the CNDS to expand the temporary vehicle parking lot. Apart from this, the District Magistrate instructed the District Panchayat to maintain regular cleanliness in the fair area.
On this occasion, Gurdwara Manager Shri Reetha Sahib Baba Shyam Singh said that the police and administration are giving full cooperation in the three-day Jod Mela. For this he thanked the administration and police.
During this, Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, Block Development Officer Pati Subhash Lohani, Tehsildar BS Kathayat, Police Station President Reetha Pratap Singh Negi, TSI Jyoti Prakash, Karseva chief Baba Bachan Singh, Baba Surendra Singh who came from Delhi, Baba Ravindra Singh from Nanakmatta, Reetha Sahib. Shyam Singh, Chief Granthi Ajit Pal Singh, officials of various departments, devotees and others were present.
