Balwinder Singh, a native of Tarn Taran district of Punjab, has brought glory to the Sikh community in Punjab as well as abroad. He has become the first Sikh mayor of Slough in Britain. There is a coalition government in Saloh between the Conservative Party and Liberal Democrats and Councilor Balwinder Singh Dhillon has been made the Mayor by the Conservative Party.
Balwinder Dhillon is a resident of village Kot Jaspat in Tarn Taran, who came to England from Punjab about 50 years ago. Councilor Dhillon defeated Labor's Councilor Dar during the mayoral election held in the Mayor's office of Slough. Only 16 out of 18 Labor councilors were present on the occasion.
