Prayagraj, 20 May (HS). Under the voter awareness campaign, the city's cultural and social organization “Aastha Samiti” organized a seminar on “How to remove voter apathy” at Rani Revati Devi Saraswati Vidya Niketan Inter College, Rajapur. In which the reasons for continuously decreasing number of voters and indifference towards voting were discussed.
Chief guest Shivkumar Pal, former government advocate of Allahabad High Court, said that today's voter is very aware. He has started assessing what the leader to whom he had previously voted had done for the development of the area. Nevertheless, to form a stable government in the country, I appeal to the voters to become aware, but not lazy. Make sure to use your franchise.
Keynote speaker Sanjay Purusharthi, President of Global Greece and representing the Atal Ground Water Scheme of the Government of India in the country, said that the voter votes with full honesty and full faith in the leader of his area. But after the elections, it is painful for him to face the problems of electricity and water and there is no hearing on protesting against it. Perhaps this pain prevents him from voting. It is our endeavor in the national interest to ensure maximum voting, this also needs attention.
Principal of the school, Banke Bihari Pandey, who was presiding, said that despite being a city of intellectuals, why is Prayagraj lagging behind in voting? Being citizens of a democratic country, we are also concerned about the development of our nation and to build a strong nation, we want 100 percent voting in every area of our country. The reasons for low voting percentage should be explored. There is a need for intellectuals, politicians and administration to sit together and brainstorm; the conclusions reached should be taken seriously.
President of “Aastha Samiti” Brijraj Tiwari said that cooperation of all of us is very important in increasing the voting percentage in the national interest. It is also important to know the reason behind people's decreasing inclination towards voting. General Secretary of the organization Manoj Gupta said that voters are worried about the future of their country but our leaders are not worried about the future of their young voters. The youth is struggling with their problems and even after the elections, they refuse to recognize those whom they voted for. Efforts should be made to change the working style of leaders.
Senior cultural worker Jamil Ahmed said that it would be better if the district administration organizes awareness programs for all the candidate leaders to resolve the basic problems of the voters. The voter uses his franchise honestly but the people on whom he trusts do not honestly fulfill their promises and duties. Despite all this, I would like to say that each and every one of your votes is invaluable for the country and can change the direction and condition of the country. Therefore, make sure to use your voting rights to build a beautiful nation. Manoj Gupta, General Secretary of “Aastha Samiti” welcomed the guests coming to the seminar and conducted the program.
