Kanpur, May 20 (HS). A truck caught fire on Monday morning when two trucks collided on the highway near Ahirwan post in Chakeri police station area. A truck driver burnt to death in the accident. While its other driver was saved from the fire and sent to the hospital for treatment.
Deputy Commissioner of Police East Shravan Kumar Singh said that on Monday morning, Chakeri police received information that two trucks collided head-on on the highway near Ahirwan post. The collision was so intense that the truck going from Rajasthan to Varanasi caught fire. The main driver suffered 20 percent burns due to the fire. While his co-driver died in the fire. Police arrived on the information of the local people and after controlling the fire with the help of the local people, both of them were immediately sent to the hospital. Where doctors declared one dead and started treatment of the other. The truck owner is being contacted to inform the families of both. Efforts are on to identify both.
