You can apply to become head coach till 27th May
The tenure of the new head coach will be three and a half years. The new coach will take charge from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2027. That means this tenure will end after the ODI World Cup 2027. The last date to apply for the post of head coach is 27th May. BCCI has mentioned some conditions in the advertisement and said that anyone can apply to become the head coach.
BCCI has set conditions for becoming the head coach of Team India!
According to BCCI, to become a head coach, a candidate should play at least 30 Test matches or 50 ODI matches. OR The candidate must have been the head coach of a Full Member Test playing country for at least 2 years. OR The candidate should have trained any Associate Member team/any IPL team or any such league or first class team or A team of any country for 3 years. Apart from this, BCCI Coaching Level-3 Certificate holders can also apply. But the age of the candidate should be less than 60 years.
How much does a head coach make?
According to reports, head coach Rahul Dravid gets Rs 10 crore as annual fee. At the same time, the salary of the new head coach has not been decided yet. BCCI has said that this time they will talk to the candidates and the salary will be decided on the basis of experience. Let us tell you that Rahul Dravid had replaced Ravi Shastri after the T20 World Cup 2021, his two-year tenure ended after the ODI World Cup 2023. But in view of the T20 World Cup 2024, his tenure was extended. However, he can still apply to become the head coach.
