In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has also invited applications for the head coach. In such a situation, after BCCI called the head coach of Team India, Lucknow Super Giants coach Justin Langer has expressed his eagerness to replace Rahul Dravid in the IPL.
Langer can become head coach
During an interview, when Justin Langer was asked about becoming the head coach of Team India, he said that yes, I am very eager for it. But I never thought about it. I understand the pressure situation, so I have a lot of respect for any international coach. As far as coaching Team India is concerned, it will be a very unusual role for me. There is a lot of talent in the Indian team. It will be very exciting to become the coach of Team India.
Doors are open for Rahul Dravid too
The tenure of the current head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid, ended after the ODI World Cup 2023, but as the T20 World Cup 2024 was around the corner, Dravid's tenure was extended. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has also said that if Dravid wants to continue in this post again, he will have to apply and go through the entire process. On the other hand, Dravid is unlikely to become the head coach of Team India again. Team India has not yet been able to win any ICC trophy under Dravid's coaching.
