Lucknow, 13 May (HS). In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, voting is going on on 13 seats of Uttar Pradesh from 7 am on Monday. A total of 58.09 percent voting took place on these seats till 6 pm.

The highest voter turnout was 62.75 percent in Kheri Lok Sabha seat, while 50.91 percent votes were cast in Kanpur Nagar seat, which is known as the least industrial city in the country. In the voting held till 6 pm, Itra reached fourth place in the hot seat of perfume city Kannauj with 59.05 percent voting. This seat saw a tough electoral contest between BJP and SP. Voting was completed under tight security by 6 pm.

State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said that voting was completed on 13 Lok Sabha seats today. According to the data, among the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies where voting took place from 7 am to 6 pm, Shahjahanpur (reserved) was 51.52 percent, Kheri 62.75 percent, Dhaurahara 62.72 percent, Sitapur 60.90 percent, Hardoi (reserved) 55.73 percent, Misrikh (reserved). Votes were cast in 54.37 percent, Unnao 53.97 percent, Farrukhabad 56.93 percent, Etawah (reserved) 54.93 percent, Kannauj 59.05 percent, Kanpur 50.91 percent, Akbarpur 55.22 percent and Bahraich (reserved) seat 55.97 percent. Whereas in UP Assembly sub-constituency Dadraul district Shahjahanpur, a total of 53.31 percent voting took place today.

The special thing is that out of 13 seats, there were only three seats where 60 percent voting had been crossed till 5 pm. None of these reserved seats has been able to surpass this figure in terms of voting. 130 candidates are contesting for 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

During the fourth phase of voting, there were complaints of sporadic clashes in many seats. There were clashes between SP and BJP supporters at many places in Kannauj seat. At the same time, in Gursahaiganj, the situation reached the level of clash and assault among the supporters. Two voters were injured in this. Almost from the beginning of voting, the political atmosphere in this seat remained heated despite the scorching heat. The video of assault on SP-BJP supporters in the development block Kant area of ​​Shahjahanpur has gone viral.

Villagers in Pipri village of Gram Sabha Mirzapur in Parsendi block area of ​​Sitapur boycotted voting due to non-availability of roads, pavements and development work. Meanwhile, villagers of two villages in Bilhaur and Ghatampur area of ​​Kanpur boycotted the elections. The officials continued to persuade the villagers to cast their votes. At present, voting is going on on all the seats and the fourth phase of polling will be completed till the voters who reach inside the booths after 6 o'clock are completed.
