History of Bahraich Lok Sabha seat
If we look at the political history of Bahraich parliamentary seat, there is no dominance of any party here. This land is known after the name of famous politician Rafi Ahmed Kidwai. If we look at Bahraich from political point of view, from 1952 till now many big personalities of the country have contested elections from Bahraich Lok Sabha. The situation of this seat is that Bahraich parliamentary seat has never been held by any one party since the 1998 elections. However, Bahraich seat was held by BJP from 1989 to 1996. But after that there is a wink-wink going on between BJP, BSP, SP and Congress. In 2014, Savitribai Phule won on BJP ticket and in 2019, BJP's Akshaybar Lal reached Delhi by winning from here. In the 17 Lok Sabha elections held so far, Congress has held the Bahraich seat for the longest time, Congress has represented from here 6 times. Whereas five times it was in the favor of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have also won this seat once each. In the delimitations of 2008, Bahraich Lok Sabha was reserved for Scheduled Caste.

Mathematics of victory and challenges
SP has introduced former MLA Ramesh Chandra as a new face from Bahraich Lok Sabha reserved seat. Ramesh Chandra's father and mother Prasad were also very active in politics. At the same time, BJP has also placed its bet on the face of its sitting MP Akshayvar Lal in place of his son Dr. Anand Kumar in this election. BJP candidates are counting the development works of Modi-Yogi government, while the issue of Ram Mandir and Article 370 also has a lot of impact here. Whereas SP and BSP candidates are making issues of unemployment, inflation, Agniveer Yojana and discrimination in development works.
According to political analyst Raghavendra Mishra, SP is giving competition to BJP here. If BSP is able to make inroads among Muslim voters, then SP's loss is inevitable. At the same time, BJP also faces the challenge of stopping the fragmentation of Dalit votes by BSP.
