A spokesman for the Ministry of Natural Disasters said that the floods have affected the capital Kabul. He said that the rescue team is also providing food and other help. Officials are completely focused on the rescue operation and have reached the spot to ascertain the number of casualties and damage caused by the flood. At least 70 people have died and nearly 2,000 homes, three religious sites and four schools have been damaged in incidents related to heavy rains and floods in Afghanistan last month. The spokesman said thousands of people were in need of humanitarian assistance.
