Kannauj, 07 May (Hindus). Voter Facilitation Center has been set up at Collectorate Main Hall for essential services category voters of Kannauj Parliamentary Constituency to cast their vote through postal ballot. On Tuesday i.e. 07 May, 8 journalist voters coming under Essential Service voted through postal ballot. The remaining essential service voters will be able to vote on 08 and 09.
It is noteworthy that this time the Election Commission of India has provided the facility to the Essential Service voters to vote through postal ballot, in which journalists participated enthusiastically. Journalists say that the facility provided by the Commission is commendable. Most of the personnel engaged in essential services were deprived of voting due to media coverage on the voting day, some journalists were deprived of voting, the Commission understood the pain of this and provided facility to vote through postal ballot.
In the second training program of polling personnel organized in two shifts at Police Lines, Kannauj, the polling personnel on duty exercised their franchise through postal ballot at the Voter Facilitation Center set up in St. Xavier's School. Thus, 50 voters in Assembly 198-Kannauj, 52 in 196-Chhibramau, 78 in 197-Tirwa and 22 voters from other districts, a total of 202 personnel voted. Till date, EDC election duty certificates have been distributed to a total of 609 personnel deployed on duty in the district. With this, the personnel on polling duty will be able to cast their vote at the same polling station where they are posted.
