Prayagraj, 07 May (HS). The Allahabad High Court refused to hear a petition filed after eight years seeking quashing of the FIR registered under various sections of the IPC, including corruption. The court said that instead of filing the petition immediately, it is being filed after eight years. Therefore, there is no proper ground to interfere in the petition.
Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh has given this order while rejecting the petition of Jai Shankar Lal Srivastava. The court has also directed the registry to send information about the court order to the trial court within a week, so that the trial court can start its proceedings.
In this case, an FIR was registered against the petitioner in January 2015 under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC in Chandauli police station of Chandauli district. A total of eight people including the petitioner were made accused. The case is pending before the Additional Sessions Judge. The petitioner recently challenged him. When the case was presented before the court, the court rejected it on the grounds that the petition was filed after eight years.
