Company continues to expand
On April 25, IndiGo placed a confirmed order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which will help the low-cost airline provide non-stop flights from India to Europe, UK, US and Australia. European aviation manufacturers stopped releasing aircraft price data from 2019.
Apart from the 30 A350-900 order, IndiGo has also secured the right to purchase an additional 70 Airbus A350 aircraft. The airline currently operates low-cost flights with a fleet of Airbus 320 aircraft with all economy seats, seating 180 to 220 passengers. With this order, IndiGo will join the wide-body segment, which till now only includes Air India and Vistara – both Tata group companies.
