The Hague: There is no end in sight to the Israel-Hamas war. There is a possibility that a warrant will be issued by the International Criminal Court on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, implicated in this, for crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza war.
The Times of Israel, quoting government sources, said on Sunday that more than 16,000 people have been killed in Israel's deadly attacks on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Gaza Strip. The entire Gaza Strip area has turned into a battlefield due to the alleged Israeli missile or air attack. Thus, it would not be surprising if the Hague International Criminal Court files a criminal case against Netanyahu regarding war crimes.
If this allegation is proved, Netanyahu will also have to face the punishment given by the International Criminal Court. However, the matter is still pending. But after the warrant is issued, if Netanyahu goes to any of the 120 countries that are members of the International Criminal Court, he could be arrested.
Israel also knows that such a situation can arise. Therefore, they have started full preparations for the rescue.
An Israeli army spokesman told reporters that Israel is providing full assistance in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. He further said that false allegations are being made against Israel. But we will get through this. US Ambassador to the UN Thomas Greenfield said that the ICC is an independent institution in which the US does not want to interfere, while a White House spokesperson said that in this situation we cannot support the destruction caused by the ICC. Which has no jurisdiction.
Reuters reports that Professor Matthew Gillett, who teaches international law at the University of Essex in England, said that if this warrant is issued, it will be linked to the International Criminal Court. If Netanyahu goes to any of the 120 countries, he will be arrested, so it is natural that he should avoid leaving the country. Professor Gillett suggested four steps against Israel and said that if Israel cannot stop this genocide, then it should be boycotted, due to which its economy will also collapse. Whereas European countries in ICC include Japan, Australia etc. Apart from them, America is also its member. If ICC warrant comes out on Israel (on Netanyahu), America and its allies will have to stop providing arms. This is what Professor Matthew Gillette says. Along with this, experts in real politics say that its possibility is less. It is unlikely that the US, European countries, Japan or Australia will stop supplying arms to Israel. The professor may be right in theory, but not in practice. In short, Israel is currently out of control.
