ICICI Bank: ICICI Bank has blocked the credit cards of 17,000 customers. After unauthorized persons had access to the credit card data of more than 17,000 ICICI Bank customers, ICICI Bank blocked the credit cards of these customers. ICICI Bank customers should check once that their credit card has not been blocked. The bank has also informed its customers about card blocking and is also issuing new credit cards to such customers.

This shocking revelation came to light after worried customers of ICICI Bank expressed their apprehensions about the security of the bank's iMobile Pay app on social media. Users reported that information like card number and CVV were also visible inside the credit card app. According to a report where users got information about the cards of unknown persons while using the iMobile Pay app. The breach raised concerns about the security protocols implemented by ICICI Bank to protect customer data.

Acknowledging the incident, an ICICI Bank spokesperson said that around 17,000 new credit cards issued in recent days were mistakenly linked to wrong users within the bank's digital channels. Despite this lapse, the spokesperson assured customers that no cases of misuse have come to light so far. Apart from this, the bank has also promised to provide appropriate compensation to the affected customers for any financial loss incurred.
What is iMobile Pay App?
iMobile Pay is the official mobile banking app of ICICI Bank which offers 400+ banking services. This is for both ICICI Bank customers and non-ICICI Bank customers. Using the app customers can close multiple cards, transfer funds, apply for loans, open FD or RD.
