Varanasi, 27 April (HS). Renowned educationist and skilled academic administrator Prof. D.P. Singh has been appointed Chancellor of Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai. Pro. Singh is also currently the education advisor to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Pro. D.P. Singh has been the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC). He has led several academic institutions in Indian higher education in his career spanning nearly four decades. As Vice-Chancellor, Professor Singh has led three universities, including Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar and Devi Ahilya University, Indore. Prof. with the post of Director, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). D. P. Singh has played many important responsibilities in Indian higher education.
