However, China's entry into disputed lands on the Bhutan border is also a threat to India.
Tibetans relocated to Tamlung village built by China
According to the report, three villages have been established in the hilly area separating the two countries. The size of these villages has also been increasing for some time. Recently a village named Tamalung has been established in the disputed area. The first batch of 38 people from Tibet city Shigatse was transferred to this village on 28 December 2023. Since then, the process of settlement of people in this village is continuing.
China started rapid development work in Tamlung village
According to the report, the Chinese government has resettled 18 people in Tamalung village. In the village where these people had come to live, they had a picture of Chinese President Xi Jinping in their hands. This village is one of the three villages built by China in the disputed area. In the second half of the year 2023, China has developed these villages rapidly. In December itself, American satellite imagery company Maxar had reported through satellite images that 147 new houses have been built in the area.
$3.6 million funding for village development
According to a local media report, this area has been designed in such a way that 235 families can live in the village. Earlier, by 2022, 70 houses were built there, in which 200 people would live. According to the 2023 funding report, $3.6 million was allocated to develop Tamalung Village, which was spent on the development of new houses, construction of two bridges, paved roads and other works.
China plans to strengthen national security in the name of poverty alleviation
The South China Morning Post quoted officials as saying that the village was built under the poverty alleviation plan of the Xi Jinping government. However, it is also being said that China is taking this step to strengthen its national security. China is rapidly developing infrastructure near the northern areas of Bhutan. China says it is part of its Tibet region and has no connection with Bhutan. There has been no response from the Bhutan government in this regard.
