Prayagraj, 25 April (HS). Allahabad High Court has reserved its verdict on the appeal of former MP Dhananjay Singh filed against the seven-year sentence awarded by the MP MLA Special Court, Jaunpur in the kidnapping case.
Hearing was held in the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. During the earlier hearing, Dhananjay's advocate had sought permission to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, during the hearing held on Wednesday, Supreme Court advocate Sudhir Walia, appearing for Dhananjay, had said that permission should be given to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
MP MLA Special Court of Jaunpur has found former MP Dhananjay Singh guilty and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment in the kidnapping case of STP Project Manager Abhinav Singhal under Namami Gange Project. A demand has been made to postpone the punishment order and release him on bail till the disposal of the appeal in the High Court.
