Rae Bareli, 25 April (Hindus). Taking initiative in Rae Bareli, the most popular seat for Lok Sabha elections, Bahujan Samaj Party has opened its cards. The party has made one of its senior leaders a candidate from here. Thakur Prasad Yadav, who has contested elections from BSP twice from Sareni, the main assembly seat of the district, will now try his luck for Lok Sabha from the party. After Yadav was made the candidate, political movements have suddenly intensified. Considering the ground hold of Thakur Prasad Yadav ji, this is being considered a big blow for the Indi alliance.
Thakur Prasad Yadav, the BSP candidate declared from Rae Bareli, is a resident of Bahai village in the district. His association with Bahujan Samaj Party dates back to about a decade. He has contested the elections from Sareni Assembly seat as a party candidate in 2017 and 2022.
Thakur Prasad Yadav, a businessman by profession, is considered a grassroots leader. In the 2017 assembly elections, he lost by only 13 thousand votes, whereas in 2022 he was at number three. In this election he got more than 38 thousand votes.
It is noteworthy that while BSP candidate Thakur Prasad Yadav will have the support of BSP cadre, he can also make a big dent in the homogeneous votes. This move of BSP is also being seen as a setback for the Indi alliance.
