But this year many states are suffering from heat since April. Amid heatwave alert across the country, summer vacation (Heatwave Alert in India) has been declared in some states. At the same time, notices for changing school timings have also been issued at some places.
There is a possibility of severe heat this year. In some states the temperature has crossed 40 degrees. In such a situation, if children remain in the sun, their health may deteriorate. That is why many states have postponed the summer vacation 2024 to be held in May-June. At the same time, school timings have been changed in some states. This will give some relief to the children (School Time Changed). Know whether schools are open or closed in your state.
Jharkhand
In view of the rising temperature in Jharkhand, the school timings have been changed. From today i.e. 22 April 2024, schools will operate according to the new schedule. Classes for children from Kindergarten to 8th will run from 7 am to 11.30 am. At the same time, students from 9th to 12th will attend classes till 12 noon. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert for 15 districts of Jharkhand. The temperature is likely to remain above 40 degrees in most parts of the state.
Odisha
In view of the heat wave warning in Odisha, summer vacation is being declared in schools from 25 April 2024. At the same time, from April 22 to April 24, 2024, the timings of all schools have been changed from 6.30 am to 10.30 am. AM. On April 20, 2024, the Odisha Meteorological Department had released a report. According to him, the temperature in some districts of Odisha was up to 45.2 degrees. Keeping this in mind, summer holidays have been announced in schools.
Bihar
In view of the deteriorating conditions due to heat in Bihar, the timings of schools in Patna have been changed. According to the Meteorological Department, at least 11 places have recorded temperatures more than 42 degrees. It is believed that the same temperature conditions will remain in the state for the next few days. At present, classes up to 10th will run from 06.30 am to 11.30 am in all government and private schools of Patna. The timings of classes 11th and 12th have not been changed.
West Bengal
The West Bengal government has taken a big decision to protect school children and staff from the scorching heat. Summer holidays have started here from 22 April 2024. This order has been implemented in all government and government-aided schools of West Bengal. But this order will not be applicable in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. There the classes will run as per the scheduled schedule till the next order is issued.
Chattisgarh
Everyone is suffering from the scorching heat in Chhattisgarh. Keeping in mind the health of children, this state government has also announced summer holidays. There will be summer vacation in all the schools of Chhattisgarh from 22 April to 15 June 2024. Summer vacation has been declared in all government, aided and private schools. Earlier summer vacation was declared from 1 May to 15 June. Now a new order has been issued making partial changes in it.
Maharashtra
Summer vacation started from April 18, 2024 (Thursday) in all primary, middle and higher secondary schools affiliated with the Government of Maharashtra. Schools in Vidarbha will open on June 30, 2024. Whereas schools in other districts will open from June 15, 2024. Holidays have also been declared in Maharashtra due to heavy rains in July-August.
