By combining Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur's expertise in emissions research with the state-of-the-art testing facilities of the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX), we can accelerate the development of innovative solutions to meet the future needs of the automotive industry. This was said on Monday by R&D Dean of IIT Kanpur, Prof. Tarun Gupta said.
He said that this unprecedented partnership will bring about a transformation in the field of automotive research, especially in the area of vehicle emissions. This important collaboration aims to work on emissions norms, especially towards the latest EU standards, and knowledge-sharing to create innovative solutions that can be used by the industry in the future.
The collaboration with NATRAX is a remarkable opportunity to bridge academic research and real-world application. This will also help us empower the Indian automotive industry to compete globally and develop the next generation of automotive engineers and researchers.

On Monday, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and the National Automotive Test Tracks signed an MoU to facilitate collaboration on Real Drive Emissions (RDE) and Emission Norms as well as other areas deemed appropriate in future, IIT media in-charge said. Signing announced. The MoU was signed by Dr. Manish Jaiswal, Director, Natrex, and Professor Tarun Gupta, Dean, Research and Development, IIT Kanpur.
Under this MoU, this future partnership will lead to new regulations in safety related to disposal and transportation of batteries, engines and flex fuel. It was also mutually agreed to work towards developing an internship program for M.Tech students of IIT Kanpur at Natrex.
