Health Insurance Policy: Whenever a person has to go to the hospital, many times his entire life's earnings and savings are spent in paying the bill. To avoid this, people buy health insurance as protection. Now, so that more and more people can get the facility of health insurance, insurance regulator IRDAI has made a big announcement related to this.
In order to broaden the health insurance sector and boost the protection of people, IRDAI has removed the age limit of 65 years for purchasing a policy. This means that now if people want to buy a new health insurance policy even after the age of 65, they can do so.
This will also benefit those children whose parents have crossed the age of 65 years. Now if he wants, he can also buy a new separate health policy for his parents. Although IRDAI has removed the age limit of 65 years, it has not set any new age limit in its place. This will now make it easier to buy health insurance at any age. This will help save more and more people in the country from unexpected hospital expenses.
The new rules will be considered effective from April 1
At present, if a person above 65 years of age wanted to take a new health insurance policy, he was not allowed to do so. Now these new rules of IRDA have become effective from April 1. For this, IRDA has also issued a gazette notification.
